Care Force is our benevolence ministry and seeks to show Christ’s love by serving the needy in our community. Click here to find out ways you can help with this ministry.
FOCUS is a mentoring program for at-risk high school students. This ministry seeks to provide positive role models for youth in the Abilene-area who may be struggling academically or socially at school. We need mentors who are willing to spend at least 4 hours a month with a student. Time spent together could include tutoring, sharing a meal or simply talking.
We Are The Sermon (WATS) is a church wide day for service. One Sunday in April the majority of our church members participate in various community projects throughout the Abilene-area. Building projects, home repairs, painting, and yard work are examples of past projects.
Nehemiah Ministry is a ministry dedicated to serving those in need through the repairing of homes. Past projects have included home building, fence repair, and painting. We need men or women with “handy’ skills or just a willing heart to help others.
Mission Trips @ Pioneer Drive are a great opportunity to take the message of love and hope that is found in Jesus to other parts of our country and world. Click here to find your mission field.
Parking Lot Greeters is a ministry designed to show hospitality to any and all guests who visit at Pioneer Drive. Friendly faces are needed to greet people at various points on our church campus.
Jail Ministry involves PDBC members conducting a church service for the inmates @Taylor County Jail. We need people who can preach, lead worship and even counsel both male and female prisoners. Background checks on all jail ministry participants must be on file before entering jail facilities. Checks usually take about 6 weeks to process.
Nursing Home Ministry exists to attend to the spiritual needs of people living in nursing homes regardless of denomination, belief, or mental capacity. We provide to Care Inn, Windcrest, Abilene Convalescent Center, and Northern Oaks doing weekly worship services and monthly fellowships for staff and patients.
